If you are interested in applying as a PhD student, we accept students from multiple different programs: Bioinformatics, Computer science and engineering, Information Technology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience and Data Science. With regards to specific skills/knowledge for applying for a position, these are some desirable skills: proficiency with programming languages, parallel programming skills, knowledge of the basics of the brain structure and function and computational modelling of brain mechanisms, as well as skills needed for multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research (broader thinking, open-minded spirit, communication skills).
The main tasks to be developed by PhD students are as follows:
Biophysical forward modelling of brain imaging signals
Inverse modelling, inference of neural parameters from macroscopic brain signals and empirical validation
Assessment of the inference tools for diagnosis and monitorization of therapeutic treatments of AD patients
